I often get asked what my favorite thing to shoot is, whether it's families, seniors, weddings, etc., and honestly there's no way I can choose! They're all so unique and special in their own ways. That said, I'm available for almost any kind of session, from grads, families, newborns, to couples, weddings and even other events. I love working with you to create the perfect session for YOU. If you want to go for a hike and get some amazing views, let's do it. If you want to go fishing or get coffee, I'm all in. If you've got ideas, let me know. If not, no worries! We'll discuss and decide the best fit for you from location to outfits and everything in between. My goal is to provide a great experience while capturing beautiful images that you'll cherish forever.
What to expect: Before
From start to finish, I want to have open communication with you. Once I get that first message from you, I'll be available to answer any questions you may have. For portrait sessions (anything that's not a wedding or event), we'll talk about the type of shoot you want, the location, what to wear, etc. I'm available to answer any questions you may have a help with choosing the perfect location(s) for you.
For weddings, I'm happy to be as involved as you need/want me to be. For any wedding or elopement, we can set up a consultation call to get to know each other and talk about the vision for your day. We'll plan out any additional sessions, such as an engagement or bridals. As we move along in the process, I'll work with you to create the best timeline for your day. You'll have the chance to review to make sure everything flows how you like. We'll talk about the shot list for family photos and any other special details of your day. As I mentioned, I'm here to help in anyway I can, so if you have questions, I'm always here. Your wedding is one of the best days of your life, so you want it to flow as smoothly as possible, and a big key to that is choosing vendors (including your photographer) you love. Your wedding cake won't last forever, but your photos will, so it's my top priority to capture images you'll love and cherish forever while providing a great experience for all involved.
What to expect: Day of
I'm pretty laid back and I'm usually not the loudest person in the room. However, I will be your hype girl and make sure you know how good you look. So many clients come to me and say they don't know what to do in pictures or they're awkward or they're not photogenic. But with me, you don't have to worry about that. I'll guide you through comfortable poses that help you relax and show the real you while being your hype-girl and telling you how incredible you look...because it's true. The ones who start the session telling me how awkward they are, end the session by telling me how much fun they had and that's one of the best compliments I can get. I'm a sucker for a good laughing shot, so you can expect some corny jokes. I also get excited and might do some squealing and happy dancing over good lighting. Golden hour is the BEST hour.
What to expect: After
Within a day or two of the shoot, I'll send you a few sneak peaks. For portrait sessions (engagement, family, seniors, maternity, etc.), you can expect all of your photos within 2-3 weeks via an online gallery. From the online gallery, you can download and share, post and print as much as you'd like. For weddings, you can expect your gallery within 6-8 weeks.
I'll give you as many photos as I can. Some photographers will say they give you a certain amount of photos based on the session length, and that's fine, I understand wanting to know how many photos to expect. However, I work a little differently. I want to give you as many photos as I can. During your session I'll be shooting pretty continuously. You never know when you'll get those perfect shots and some of my favorites are often the ones where you forget I'm even there. That said, I take a lot of photos and give a lot of photos. Photos are an investment and you should love what you get, so I like to give you options.
Every photo you receive will be edited by me. You can look through my portfolio to see my editing style. I love rich colors and authentic emotion. Most of the images you'll receive will be in color, but I do give some in black and white. Editing is part of the creative process and a big part of what makes photographers different. Everyone has their own style and I've worked hard to get mine to this point. For that reason, I do not give unedited photos.
What to expect: PRicing & Details
Pricing varies by session and location. When you connect with me, I'll talk with you to get a good idea of what you're wanting, and then send over a pricing guide, location guide or other information. I'm a firm believer that everyone deserves to have nice photos, even if you're on a budget. That said, if budget is a concern, please talk to me and I'll do my best to work with you as much as I can.
I'm based in East Texas, but I'm in DFW and Austin frequently. Frequently asked questions
How many photos will I receive?
A.Unlike many photographers, I don't set a minimum or maximum number of photos I give per session, I can promise that you'll get a lot!
Most galleries for standard sessions are 100+ and weddings are usually more than 1000.
The exact number of photos you receives depends on your session or event, but I will give you as many options as I can.
We're awkward and don't take photos often...can you help?
A.Absolutely! So many clients come to me and say they're awkward in front of the camera (and honestly I feel that way too when I get photos taken!). But there's no need to worry. I love capturing real, natural emotion in photos, so I'll guide you through easy, fun and natural posing that will create great photographs. You don't have to worry about being stiff or uncomfortable. My goal is to get you laughing and having a great time.
What if I don't know where I want to have my session?
A.Not sure about location? No problem! I'll work with you to decide on the best location for you! We'll talk about your desired look and feel, as well as location accessibility, admission fee (if applicable) and even parking.
Will you help us plan our session or the day of our wedding?
A.Of course! My goal is to make your day as easy as possible. For all sessions, I'll work with you to decide on the perfect location and/or activities for you. I'll have easy, natural posing prompts and will guide you every step of the way.
For weddings, I'll work with you to create the perfect timeline for the day. I'll always have it with me on the day of, and will make adjustments as needed to make sure we include allllll the special moments.
Can I bring my dog my session?
A.YES! Please bring your dog.
Do you shoot destination weddings?
A.YES! I love to travel and explore new places and would love to shoot your destination wedding! Pricing varies by need, location, etc., so please contact me for more information.
Will you help me with outfits?
A.Yes! Ultimately, this choice is up to you, but I always always always say the most important thing is that you wear something you feel comfortable in. If you're wearing something that you'll be tugging at or will rub in weird places, you won't look as happy in your photos. I can offer suggestions of what colors and types of outfits for the type of session or location, as well as how to coordinate multiple people without clashing. I always welcome my clients to send me a picture of what they're thinking if they still have questions or need help deciding or coordinating.
Can you photoshop me so I look thinner?
A.The easiest answer to this is no. I'm not in that business. I won't airbrush you. I believe that you are beautiful the way you are and I won't do anything that will dramatically change that. However, I can and will occasionally smooth out your skin a little, remove a zit that annoyingly showed up the morning of your session or occasionally whiten your teeth, but all at my discretion.
I usually go by a six month rule... if it won't be there in six month, I'll try to remove it. But again, all at my discretion. I will not make any promises to photoshop you or make you look different. If you have something you're concerned about, talk to me. But I promise, your joy is what people will notice.
Do I have to order prints through you?
A.Nope! At this time, I don't have an option to print through me. I hope to add this eventually, though. I will say that cheaper printers give you a cheaper product. If you're printing your photos and want recommendations on quality printing, please let me know.
What kind of gear do you use?
A.I shoot with Canon. I have a couple different camera bodies and several lenses, as well as external flash and various props. To edit, I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
